I think this profession is very important. I've been teaching since 1997. I've taught Pre-School, Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade. I've enjoyed teaching these different grade-levels. I have a Bachelor's Degree, a multiple-subject teaching credential with an addendum which allows me to teach Language Arts up to 12th Grade, a Master's Degree in Education, and a Reading Specialist Credential. Initially, I worked primarily with second-language learners. I've also worked in Intervention. Recently, I've furthered my education by taking a variety of professional development classes at USC for the gifted students. I truly enjoy working with young children and watching them grow, learn, and develop social skills.
Goals for the year:
My goals for the year include having all students proficient in grade level standards. I also expect each child to develop good academic habits at school and at home. It is very important that each child learns to display positive behavior in the classroom, as well as on the yard. The children must learn to treat everyone with respect. They need to listen attentively during instruction. The students will become responsible citizens.
Homework and Projects:
It is very important that each child reads for at least 20 minutes every day. I would also like each child to practice their basic math facts daily.
I'm looking forward to a terrific school year!
