Meet the Principal

Dear Darby Families,
 
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am thrilled to welcome both our returning families and those joining the Darby community for the first time. I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories. We are excited to begin another incredible year of learning, growth, and success together! At Darby Elementary, we believe every child has unlimited potential. Together, we will continue building on our tradition of excellence by providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where students are challenged to think critically, lead with kindness, and grow into confident, compassionate global citizens. Our commitment is to help every student reach their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a proud product of LAUSD with 25 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of serving as an elementary teacher, middle school math and science teacher, English Learner Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and now Principal. Each of these experiences has strengthened my passion for education and reinforced my belief that strong partnerships between families, staff, and the community are the foundation of student success. I am honored to serve the Darby community and look forward to working alongside you throughout the year.

Darby Elementary is truly a special place. We celebrate every student's unique strengths and believe that when students feel valued, supported, and connected, they thrive. As your principal, I am committed to being approachable, and engaged in the life of our school. I look forward to celebrating your child's achievements, supporting them through challenges, and watching them grow into leaders both inside and outside the classroom.
